Privacy and safety

This site is made for children aged two and up, and the grown-ups beside them. So we collect nothing about the child.

What happens on this device

  • This site saves passport stamps, which drawings have come to life, visits to Henry's room, the chosen book, a small crayon picture if one is drawn, and game best scores and furthest levels in this browser only.
  • Clear this site's progress on the Grown-ups page removes those saved items. Sound, spoken prompts, age band, play mode, motion and reminder settings stay as they are. You can change these on the Grown-ups page.
  • To reset both settings and progress, remove this site's data in your browser settings and reload. Other Henry's Crayon websites keep their own saved data.
  • Spoken prompts use your device's own built-in voice. Nothing is recorded and no audio leaves the device.

What we never do

  • No child accounts, names, email addresses, dates of birth, locations, photos or voice recordings.
  • No advertising, in the child zone or anywhere else on this site.
  • No third-party trackers, social media buttons, embedded videos or analytics scripts in the child zone.
  • No chat, comments, uploads, sharing or any other way for a child to publish anything.
  • No streaks, timers, loot boxes, virtual currency or prompts to buy.

Grown-up areas

Pages for grown-ups, educators and press may link to outside websites, such as shops or partners. Those links only ever appear outside the child zone. If we add a newsletter, it will ask for a grown-up's email address only, with clear consent.

Measurement

We may use privacy-preserving, cookie-free page statistics on grown-up pages to understand how many families find the site. We do not measure individual children and we do not build profiles.

The rules we design by

We treat the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (the Children's Code) as our floor: high privacy by default, data minimisation, no profiling, no nudges that weaken privacy, and grown-up involvement for anything that changes a default.
